If you were "hands-on" in today's session you have a nice start to your Liquid Syllabus! Once you are ready to take it live with a course there are a few things to think through for implementation.

Most importantly, be sure you have clicked Publish so all updates you've made are reflected on your public website.
You might consider this draft as a template if it isn't too specific to a single course. If you will be making a Liquid Syllabus for different courses you teach you can use the "make a copy" function to duplicate the site and then edit to make it specific to a different course you teach.

Making only a single-page available to students before the course begins.
Making only the Canvas homepage visible to students in the course shell before the course begins and providing a QR code to the Liquid Syllabus.
Showing additional pages in the website navigation after the course has started, to provide additional information.

You'll also see some additional elements that are possible for a Liquid Syllabus that we did not address in this training, such as a Learning Pact and Teaching Philosophy.

Finally I want to answer a common question, what do I do about my traditional Word doc syllabus?

Michelle's advice is to still provide a Word doc with the essential information typical of a syllabus in a simple text-based format that students can print if desired and she can submit to administration.
She hasn't surveyed students yet about their use of the printable doc, but perhaps that a question you might consider investigating if you implement a Liquid Syllabus.
